ISScript11

ISScript11 is the InstallShield Script Engine (InstallScript runtime) used by installers built with InstallShield 11. It provides the scripting infrastructure that executes custom installation logic on Windows, including file and registry operations, service control, COM registration, prerequisite handling, user interface dialogs, and rollback.

Key points:

• Purpose: Enables InstallScript-based setup, maintenance, and uninstall operations for software packaged with InstallShield 11.
• How it appears: Often installed automatically by applications and may show up in Programs and Features as “ISScript11” or “InstallShield 11 Script Runtime.” It is not a standalone app you run directly.
• Removal: Uninstalling it can break the repair, update, or removal of programs that depend on it. If you remove it, it is typically reinstalled by the next InstallShield-based setup you run.
• Trust and safety: Published by InstallShield Software and generally distributed as a digitally signed component. It runs only during installation-related tasks, not as a persistent background service.
